Label Text: Broderson is a Los Angeles artist who was born deaf. He is a meticulous draftsman whose figures always appear lost in a timeless trance, sad and alone. In this picture the two figures sit in chairs with their backs facing the spectator and each other. They appear not as individuals but as symbols of the essential loneliness of man.
