Label Text: Kurosaki uses a traditional woodblock print technique, but produces Western-influenced abstractions. Dramatic shading defines three-dimensional, geometric forms in compositions that seem vaguely theatrical. These chiaroscuro effects, along with a wide range of colors, distance his work from traditional Japanese styles and subjects.
