Label Text: In 1956, Jack Youngerman settled in an area of lower Manhattan near Ellsworth Kelly, Robert Indiana, and several other artists. Youngerman approached the prevailing trend toward abstraction with an eye to the natural world as the source of his simplified, organic forms.
