Label Text: Larry Rivers shares some stylistic affinities with Abstract Expressionists and Pop Artists. Along with Rauschenberg, Rivers pioneered inclusion of everyday objects in collage-like works, a practice that Pop Artists would intensify. At the height of abstraction’s reign in New York, Rivers caused a stir by re-introducing the human figure into his work.
